My next cheesesteak review took me to the beautiful, vibrant, eclectic and extremely busy section of Philadelphia known as South Street.  In all there a few hundred business that line South Street, and you should never have a problem trying to find anything that you are looking.  South Street literally has it all.  This time I tried a cheesesteak with provolone and fried onions from Ishkabibbles Eatery which is located in the 300 block of South Street.

Bread-I visited this location early one morning on a weekend so the bread was extremely fresh.  It was soft and it wasn’t too chewy and it had a pretty good taste to it.  When the cook was done grilling the meat, cheese and onions together he threw the roll on the grill for a few seconds which actually made the bread taste even better.

Cheese-The cheese was probably my favorite part of the entire cheesesteak.  Not only was it extremely tasty, there was also a ton of it and it was melted throughout the entire cheesesteak.  I’m not too sure what brand of cheese it was, but if every cheesesteak place used the same provolone the world would be a much better place.

Meat-The meat was also very tasty.  It was seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper and it was cooked to perfection.  The meat started to fall apart in my mouth as I ate it and this is a sign of good quality meat cooked at the perfect temperature, cooked to the perfect texture and cooked for the perfect amount of time.  Other than that it was diced up in to small pieces which is also something that I am looking for when reviewing cheesesteaks.

Amount-This cheesesteak was very filling.  It had a ton of meat and a ton of cheese.  In all I think they included 5 slices of provolone cheese when cooking it from what I saw.  The roll was your average 10 inch roll so there was nothing special there.  The only complaint I have when it comes to amount is that there were barely any fried onions.

Fried Onions-What they included was really good.  They were cooked to a nice golden-brown color and to an enjoyable crispy texture.  They were also mixed throughout the entire cheesesteak which means my only complaint about them was that there were not very many fried onions included.

If Ishkabibbles Eatery would have included more fried onions I would have given them a perfect rating of 5.  Their cheesesteak defintely ranks up there with my favorite cheesesteaks of all time.  So if you are on South Street I recommend Ishkabibbles.  They are located directly across from the TLA so it’s not a hard place to find.  I’m not too sure what the rest of their menu includes, but that shouldn’t matter.  Their cheesesteak is amazing so you should stick with that.  Trust me you won’t be disappointed.  Hands down they have one of the best cheesesteaks around the Philadelphia area.  It’s a small place so if you go during a busy time be prepared to wait.  Other than that have fun, go enjoy their cheesesteak and get back to me with what you think.
